The Most Powerful Antioxidant

The most powerful antioxidant is not found in any food that we eat which contains antioxidants. Whatever super-values that these super-foods are measured in ORAC (Oxygen radical absorbance capacity),none of these so called super-foods and antioxidant supplements can match the potency of this super antioxidant.

This super antioxidant is called Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), an antioxidant enzyme produced naturally by our body. It is capable of neutralizing the most dangerous of all free radicals, the highly reactive superoxide radicals which is responsible for the cell damage in our body. SOD converts the superoxide radicals to elemental oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. Then, the hydrogen peroxide which is also damaging is converted by another enzyme called Catalyse into simple water and neutral oxygen gas. SOD enzymic activity was discovered by Irwin Fridovich and Joe McCord at Duke University in 1969.  SOD activity is determined by measuring ratios of auto-oxidation rates in the presence and absence of the sample and expressed as traditional McCord Fridovich "cytochrome c" units.

The antioxidant enzymes such as SOD and Catalyse are complex proteins produced naturally by our body. These antioxidant enzymes are our body’s most powerful defenses against free radicals which can damage all the components of the cell including DNA, proteins, and lipids.

How to Boost Superoxide Dismutase and Catalase?
SOD and Catalase antioxidant enzymes can be boosted by activating the NRF2 protein in our body.
“Nrf2 is a powerful protein that is latent within each cell in the body, unable to move or operate until it is released by an Nrf2 activator. Once released it migrates into the cell nucleus and bonds to the DNA at the location of the Antioxidant Response Element (ARE) or also called hARE (Human Antioxidant Response Element) which is the master regulator of the total antioxidant system that is available in ALL human cells.” (Source: http://www.nrf2.com/)

PROTANDIM the NRF2 Activator
PROTANDIM is a NRF2 activator which is capable of boosting the SOD and Catalase enzymes in your body. It signals your body's genes to produce special antioxidant enzymes, SOD (superoxide dismutase) CAT (catalase) that work together as the body's first line of defense against free radicals.* These enzymes are "catalytic," which means that SOD and Catalase are not used up when they neutralize free radicals. A single daily caplet helps your body create a cascade of natural catalytic antioxidants that are able to destroy millions of free radicals per second continuously 24 hours a day.
